We are now hiring for a full-time Early Learning Manager to join our DuPage center.

SALARY:

The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $70,000 and $75,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Working with Site Directors/Supervisors, develop systems to support effective teaching strategies and the Creative Curriculum, that are developmentally appropriate and that prepare children to succeed in school.

Under the leadership of the Associate Director of Early Learning and in collaboration with other area content supervisors, review ongoing monitoring data to inform quality improvement of services.

Plan and implement training for staff on required DCFS topics, Head Start Standards, Early Learning Standards, NAEYC Accreditation Standards, Excelerate standards, developmentally appropriate practice, and other topics as determined by staff needs.

Implement a system for monitoring and reporting on assigned program components that will be used to inform, internal and external stakeholder to ensure that quality services are being delivered.

Meet with program supervisors to provide supervision and to develop professional development plans and goals with a timeline for meeting them.

Take the lead in developing and implementing the annual program self-assessment. In addition, revise, as needed, the Community Assessment.

Working with Teachers and Site Director/Supervisor, Health/Nutrition Coordinator and Family Engagement/ERSEA Coordinator, Mental Health and Disabilities coordinators to mental health and IEP/IFSP services for children.

Ensure that a multidisciplinary staffing is completed for children and families as needs are identified.

Ensure effective transition planning completed as children move in and out of 0-5 services.

Ensure coordination of communication with staff parents, program consultants, and community to enhance services to children and families.

Provides active supervision to ensure the safety of children while in the classroom, during transitions, and while on the playground. Ensures that no child shall be left alone or unsupervised.

Oversees all personal matters across span of control, including hiring, assigning, performance management and termination of staff. Fosters leadership potential of program staff.

Develop and coordinate implementation of staff training and professional development. This includes monitoring the training and technical assistance funds.

Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

Demonstrated ability to work in teams.

Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a complex environment.

Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups

QUALIFICATIONS:

License as required by agency and governmental bodies.

Must possess Pediatric First Aid and CPR certificate or obtain w/in 90 days of employment.

Master’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Five years of experience in early childhood education with increasing levels of administrative responsibility.

Two years of the required experience must be at the supervisory level in an early childhood setting, or licensed day care center.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Satisfactorily pass all screenings and relevant background checks.

TRAVEL/TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS:

Driving for work required with a personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
