Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Model excellence in safety, quality, and all functions of the facility.

· Follow all safety requirements including the wearing and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Lead by example.

· Provide the team with a vision of Safety First, and both Production and Quality Objectives.

· Make sure to use clear and effective communication at all levels of the organization.

· Lead and manage the effective day to day activities of the assigned shifts’ production team.

· Follow all Work Instructions and procedures to ensure that standardized work is being performed at all operations.

· Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, Kaizen thinking - continuous improvement of processes and products, and teamwork.

· Follow and lead the process of STOP, CALL, WAIT.

· Quarantine suspect parts until decision is made for disposition with other management team members.

· Encourage Kaizen improvement. Completing at least One (1) Kaizen improvement per month is expected.

· Work as the first point of contact for production technicians and coordinate activities with support groups such as maintenance, engineering, quality, tooling, shipping and management, etc.

· Assure that the team addresses all relevant issues within the specification and various standards. For example, First Piece Check, Quality Investigations, Root Cause/Counter Measure, Compliance of the current revision of TTN’s Combined Quality and Environmental Policy, and all workplace guidelines.

· Work with Production Manager and other Shift Coordinator to obtain necessary resources to support the team’s requirements from a manpower perspective.

· Act as a backup for the production manager in coordinating with external customers.

· Provide daily reporting of production activities for designated shift.

· Schedule daily production activities to make sure all customer requirements are met, and parts are available for shipping.

· Oversee Material Handling and Supply Inventory.

Assist Production Manager with daily management of Time and Attendance utilizing current time keeping system and current payroll forms.

· Work with all team members and management members to keep downtime to a minimum.

· Ensure that all operators are correctly recording any downtime incurred.

· Coach and help develop team members. Including but not limited to resolving any and all behavior(s) that do not follow workplace guidelines (See TTN Handbook for Reference).

· Monitor breaks and lunches of all team members to verify that times are being followed correctly.

· Facilitate problem solving when needed.

· Intervene when necessary to aid the group in resolving issues.

· Escalate issues which cannot be resolved by the team to the Production Manager.

· Assist in timely and accurate investigation and closure of all work-related incidents in area of responsibility.

· Work with the Training Coordinator to schedule online training and training meetings.

Education and Experience

· 2 to 5 years Manufacturing experience.

· Experience in automotive manufacturing is a plus.

· Computer skills required including Microsoft Office, Email, etc.

· Strong oral communication skills required.

· Knowledge of Toyota Production Systems beneficial.

Training Requirements

· Must be trained on equipment specific to TTN manufacturing operations.

· All OSHA required and TTN specified training

· Operation of Digital Scale

· MSA (Measurement System Analysis) – measuring techniques

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit a minimum of 4 hours per day.

Must be able to stand a minimum of 4 hour per day to perform routine shop floor checks and sign offs.

Must be able to lift to a height of approximately 44” and carry a short distance, a minimum of 25 lbs. not to exceed a max weight of 35 lbs. periodically.

Job requires ability to walk daily to and from the manufacturing area for the review of operation. Distance is approximately 50 to 75 yards.

Operation requires periods when pushing and pulling may be needed at a height of 55”.

Occasional requirement of operator to stoop and kneel during verification of shipping items.

Personal Protective Equipment

Safety Glasses with side shields. Must meet current OSHA Standard Specification. Non-prescription safety glasses are provided by TTN and the company reimburses for prescription safety glasses.

Hearing protection (earplugs and/or ear muffs) required. Provided by TTN.

Steel toed safety shoes (operator option) or fully enclosed shoes. TTN reimburses for Safety Shoes, they must meet current OSHA Standard Specification.

Safety gloves at all times when on the shop floor.

Long pants and shirt with long sleeves or Kevlar sleeves

Ball caps while on the shop floor.

Hard hats at the presses during die change and tooling/maintenance.

Work Environment

· Work performed in a manufacturing environment that is temperature controlled at all times and well lighted throughout.

· The manufacturing environment includes noise from stamping presses and other equipment equal to or in excess of 85dB, thus the need for hearing protection.

· Use of chemicals in the operations but not considered to be detrimental to health or well being. (Refer to appropriate SDS for full description)

· The general facility has fork truck and pedestrian traffic.

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
