Job Title: Public Services Program Coordinator
Location: Onsite – Rhode Island Department of Health, Center for Professional Boards and Licensing
Schedule: 35 hours per week
Position Summary
The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is seeking a Public Services Program Coordinator for the Center for Professional Boards and Licensing. This dynamic role focuses on enhancing existing licensing programs, streamlining operations, and developing new strategies that improve efficiency and better serve the people of Rhode Island.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning and development initiatives within the Licensing Unit.
Conduct operational reviews and recommend process improvements through detailed research and analysis.
Monitor the unit’s performance for effectiveness and compliance.
Draft and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Evaluate and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Collaborate across departments and with external state agencies to coordinate licensing efforts.
Assist with public inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits.
Represent the Licensing Unit in meetings and external communications in the Manager’s absence.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong grasp of program planning, process analysis, and development best practices.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate, enhance, and implement operational changes.
Skilled at cross-functional coordination and public service communication.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and databases.
Independent and proactive working style.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in public administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Experience in program development within a human services or regulatory environment.
Or any equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
