Job Description

Material Handler/Technician – Day shift

Summary: Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as handling raw material logistics. This dual-role position supports equipment reliability and production efficiency while also ensuring timely supply and removal of materials to and from production lines.

Responsibilities:

· Support raw material movement to/from machines based on production schedules

· Assist with loading/unloading trucks and general material flow

· Maintain clean and organized maintenance and work areas

· Provide support for occasional custodial or handyman tasks

· Supervise and work alongside external contractors as needed

· Available for overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel when required

· Perform preventative maintenance and document all activities via CMMS

· Troubleshoot production-related malfunctions and drive root cause solutions

· Coordinate with leadership and respond to service calls to minimize downtime

· Use tools and equipment such as multimeters, welders, drills, etc.

· Perform fabrication and repair work (e.g., welding, grinding, cutting)

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and NFPA 70E safety standards

Required Skills & Qualifications:

·Forklift Certification

· High school diploma or GED required; Associate's in electrical/mechanical tech preferred

· Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, and industrial plant maintenance

· Strong troubleshooting abilities and urgency to maintain production schedules

· Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Word); experience with CMMS preferred

· Forklift operation and valid certification required

· Understanding of electrical safety codes and plant safety protocols

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs and perform physical labor (kneeling, climbing, reaching)

· Use of hand tools and occasional exposure to sharp or heavy objects
