Job Title: CNC Machine Operator
Job Description
This role goes beyond simply operating machinery; it involves setting up machines, performing tool changes, and conducting tear downs. You will read micrometers and calipers, as well as interpret blueprints and drawings to create parts. Additionally, inspecting the parts for flaws and executing minor machine maintenance are key aspects of this role. If unfamiliar with certain tasks, training will be provided.
Responsibilities
Set up CNC machines and perform tool changes and tear downs.
Read and interpret micrometers, calipers, blueprints, and drawings.
Create parts with precision and inspect them for any defects.
Perform minor maintenance on machines.Essential Skills
1+ years experience in setting up machines, specifically Mill or Haas.
1+ years experience in tearing down and performing tool changes on Mills or Haas.
1+ years of CNC operation experience on Mills or Haas.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Proficiency in reading measuring instruments, specifically micrometers and calipers.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to read blueprints.
Experience in machine maintenance.

Work Environment
Work in a decent-sized company that employs about 80 people. The environment is fairly clean and bright with a long line of machines. The second plant features a large warehouse with small assembly stations. While not climate-controlled, the space is not excessively hot, and it carries a slight smell of oil and metal. The company, established in 1920, is now international, specializing in power transmission components like flexible shaft couplings and gears. The primary manufacturing processes include machining and assembly.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Haven, Michigan.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $27.00/hr.
