Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead DAS Cable Technician to oversee the installation, maintenance, and optimization of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) within our mission-critical data center. This leadership role is ideal for a technician with strong technical skills and project coordination experience in wireless infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise DAS installation projects, including coaxial, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling.
Coordinate with RF engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate execution of DAS deployments.
Perform advanced testing and troubleshooting using PIM testers, spectrum analyzers, and OTDRs.
Interpret and validate RF design documents, iBwave layouts, and as-built drawings.
Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, public safety DAS requirements).
Maintain detailed documentation of cable routes, test results, and system configurations.
Train and mentor junior technicians and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications such as iBwave, BICSI, or OSHA 30 strongly preferred.
3–5 years of experience in DAS installation and RF cabling, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
Proficiency with DAS OEM systems (e.g., CommScope, Corning, JMA, SOLiD).
Strong understanding of coaxial cable types ( ” Heliax, RG-11), fiber optics, and RF signal propagation.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, floor plans, and RF schematics.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with public safety DAS (ERRCS) and carrier coordination.
Familiarity with data center environments and structured cabling standards.
Working knowledge of DCIM tools and network infrastructure.
