Position Summary:
As a growing company, we are always looking for new team members to help us continue our success. Currently, we are seeking a Driver who is primarily responsible for the support of distribution center operations by efficiently delivering hardware-related merchandise to Orgill, Inc. customers and transporting returned items or equipment back to the distribution center, as well as shuttling merchandise to consolidation facilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Operate tractor-trailer combinations to deliver products to our customers
Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
Maintain electronic logs and other documentation applicable to company, state, and federal regulations.
Secure cargo for transport, using load bars, ratchet straps, and pipe arms.
Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
Perform pre- and post-trip daily inspections
Current possession and ability to maintain Class A CDL; must be able to obtain hazmat endorsement and doubles endorsement within 90 days of employment. (Company reimbursed).
Excellent MVR and must pass a background check.
Ability to pass Orgill's physical assessment evaluation.
Prefer Customer Service-oriented drivers.
Two years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience, preferred.
Commitment to high standards of safety
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Able to walk, reach, bend, push, pull, stoop, squat, climb, grasp, and lift as necessary to perform vehicle inspections and the coupling/uncoupling process
Able to walk, bend, reach, stoop, squat, push, and pull as well as maneuver items of any weight above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment, such as but not limited to, unloading merchandise for customers using a manual pallet jack and unloading freight by hand.
Organizational Skills to plan daily assigned trips
Flexible to meet deadlines.
Being prompt for scheduled deliveries is crucial.
High School diploma or GED preferred
