The Cincinnati Life Insurance Company Life Claims department is currently seeking an experienced claims processor to analyze and process life insurance and annuity claims. The position requires professional communication with beneficiaries, agents and other customers while providing fair adjudication of claims and acting as a resource to others.

Hourly: The pay range for this position is $19.23 - $22.00 hourly. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and individual performance.

Be ready to:

manage a case load of Life and Annuity claims, including Accelerated Benefit claims

review and investigate claim evidence to determine liability and prevent fraud

interpret and apply contract language to verify coverage

answer telephone inquiries regarding new, pending and settled claims

communicate with claimants, agents, beneficiaries, attorneys and others

approve claims accurately, promptly, and within scope of authority

maintain claim files in thorough, clear and objective manner

verify data in policy administration system and calculate benefit amount to ensure accurate claim payment

complete contestable claim investigations, including review of medical records

participate in projects or special assignments as needed

comply with all regulations and state fair claims practices

Be equipped with:

knowledge of basic life insurance and annuity contract language

familiarity with tax laws related to annuities

strong analytical and math skills

ability to work well independently and in teams

proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

strong attention to detail

excellent customer service skills

knowledge of LifePro administration system preferred

minimum three years’ experience life and annuity claim processing preferred

demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Bring education or experience from:

Associate degree or equivalent life/annuity or tax-related experience

progress toward FLMI, FLHC or other industry designation preferred
