About HPF: Houston Precision Fasteners produces high strength, fatigue rated, close tolerance fasteners using materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, nickel alloy, titanium, Wasp Aloy, A-286, monal and multiphase. Our fasteners have supported mission aircraft such as Joint Strike Fighters, F/A 18 Super Hornet, and Falcon 9; just to name a few. We are dedicated to providing a superior product for our customers.

Job purpose: To create detailed accurate and technical drawings used in the production of aircraft, spacecraft, and related aerospace components. These drawings, often created with CAD software, provide specific instructions for manufacturers, including materials, dimensions, and assembly procedures. The AMD will work closely with engineers and the design team to ensure that drawings are accurate, compliant with the Aerospace industry standard, and reflect the latest design changes.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

· Creating technical drawings: Using CAD software, you will produce detailed drawings that guide the construction of aerospace components.

· Collaborating with engineers: working with engineers to refine designs, incorporate feedback, and ensure drawings meet technical standards.

· Adhering to standards: Must ensure that drawings comply with aerospace regulations and industry standards.

· Revising drawings: Revise drawings as needed to reflect design changes and project requirements.

· Preparing documentation: Preparing documentation for project proposals and technical reports.

· Understanding industry standards: Must have a strong understanding of aerospace regulations, standards, and best practices.

· Utilizing CAD software: Proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar programs is essential.

· Interpreting technical drawings: Must be able to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.

· Providing technical expertise: May offer insights and suggestions based on their drafting expertise during design reviews.

· Maintaining accuracy: Must ensure that all drawings are accurate and comply with specifications.

Professional Skills:

· HS diploma or equivalent or equivalent combination of experience/education

· 2 or more years of related experience required

· Intermediate knowledge of mathematics and applications

· Basic AS9100 knowledge

· Intermediate knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. This includes Keyence inspection equipment, optical comparators, digital micrometers and calipers, gage pins, ring gages, dial indicators, concentricity gage, thread segments

· Intermediate knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints (including geometric dimension and tolerancing features), drawings, and models as well as advanced knowledge of geometric dimension tolerancing (GD&T) features

· Software Proficiency: Experience with CAD software, including 3D modeling software, is essential.

· Industry Knowledge: Understanding manufacturing processes, materials, and standards within the aerospace industry can be a significant advantage.

· Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in drafting, CAD software, and design fundamentals are essential.

· Critical Thinking: The ability to analyze designs, identify potential issues, and make informed decisions is vital.

· Communication: Effective communication skills are needed to collaborate with engineers and other professionals.

Physical Requirements and Working Condition:

· Work primarily involves using computers and specialized software, with limited physical exertion beyond sitting and using a keyboard and mouse.

· Subject to environmental conditions -protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes

· Subject to hazards to include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
