An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Junior Accountant to join our Global Corporate Head Office based in Dandenong South.

Working alongside our Senior Finance team, the Junior Accountant position is a varied and challenging role which will be responsible for processing, supporting financial inputs and producing financial results for a series of companies and trusts.

Daniels is a large international business with operations across South Africa, UK, Canada, USA and Australia.

Operational activities included transport, manufacturing of products, distribution and treatment of healthcare waste.

Daniels is a highly recognised brand in the healthcare space.

Daniels also has 2 large charities with over $50m invested, and a large growing property group and investment arm investing into direct investment, managed funds and other PE type activities.

Key Responsibilties:

Financial Reporting- Prepare monthly reporting packs and associated reports for assigned business entities and assist with actual and forecast cash flow reports for Corporate entities

General Ledger- Process month-end journals into Microsoft BC (all relevant entities), Perform balance sheet accounts reconciliations and analyses after finalising end of month (all relevant entities)

Reconciliations- Maintain fixed asset registers- Process and reconcile intercompany transactions, Reconcile accounts of non-operating entities on a quarterly basis. Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for local and foreign currency accounts

Compliance- Assist with the preparation of BAS Returns for assigned business entities in multiple jurisdictions

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree majoring in Accounting

Must have 2-3 years' experience working in a Public Accounting Firm

Strong Excel skills

Good understanding of reconciliations

Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Competent user of software packages and Microsoft Office software (advanced Excel skills)

Flexible and able to handle change easily

Organised and works well in a team environment

Willing to undertake their CPA/CA designation

Positive attitude with energy and a sense of fun - someone who enjoys contributing to a vibrant and supportive team culture
