Job Title: Landfill Design Engineer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Landfill Design Engineer with up to 6 years of experience, actively engaged in hands-on landfill design work. This is not a managerial or project management role; instead, it is a technical design position focused on developing expertise under the mentorship of a leading landfill designer. The ideal candidate is eager to grow as an understudy and contribute directly to innovative landfill gas capture projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and perform engineering calculations and direct CADD efforts to translate concepts into detailed design drawings.
Prepare comprehensive design reports, project documentation, and certification materials.
Collaborate on all project phases from feasibility studies through construction and startup, including the preparation of drawings, plans, specifications, bid documents, and reports.
Develop technical proposals for mid to large-scale projects, including technical plans, schedules, and cost estimates, working closely with project staff.
Apply specialized knowledge to the design of landfill gas capture mechanisms, with a strong focus on renewable natural gas systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
PE licensed or EIT with the ability and commitment to obtain PE licensure.
Up to 5 years of direct landfill design experience, particularly with landfill gas capture system design (strongly preferred).
Proven hands-on experience with mechanical engineering design related to gas capture and renewable natural gas (strongly preferred).
Ability to independently perform engineering calculations and produce technical design documentation.
Strong communication skills for writing reports and contributing to project decisions under the guidance of senior client managers.
Willingness to learn and grow under mentorship from senior landfill designers.
What We Offer:
Opportunity to work closely with top industry experts in landfill design.
Hands-on experience across all project phases, from concept to startup.
A collaborative and supportive work environment focused on professional growth.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
