Hiring Opportunity: Columbus OH

Our client is looking to hire a structural engineer to join their team here in Columbus! Our client has over 50 years of experience solving air pollution control problems for a large variety of industrial sources, including furnaces, boilers, incinerators, kilns, and dryers.

The structural engineer would mainly be involved in designing structural components of our manufactured equipment,

and their support structures and access platforms.

Qualified individuals will need to have strong experience in CAD related software with either a Civil or Structural degree and ideally have a PE license.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

- Manage 2-3 associates (direct reports). Direct reports will include Junior Structural Engineers and/or Civil/Structural Designers.

- Plan and execute work to meet projects" schedules, technical, and budget requirements.

- Coordinate design work with other engineering disciplines - mechanical and electrical.

- Develop equipment layouts. Produce General Arrangement drawings.

- Produce engineering calculations and sketches for support structures, access platforms, ductwork, vessels, tanks, buildings, and the like.

- Prepare Purchase Specifications for buy-outs such as prefab buildings, screw conveyors, rotary valves, expansion joints, etc.

- Write scopes, obtain bids, evaluate, and award Subcontracts to Engineering consulting firms. Once hired, manage consultant to ensure Subcontract requirements are met.

- Check and Approve all drawings prior to release/issuance.

- Respond to RFIs from fabricators and contractors.

- Participate in internal and external meetings, design reviews, etc.

Qualifications:

- Proficiency with structural analysis (STAAD) and CAD (AutoCAD) software.

- Site development.

- Conceptual skills.

- Planning.

- Eight to 10 years of relevant engineering experience

- Registered Professional Engineer in one state and ability to obtain license in other States. (strongly preferred)

- Bachelor"s degree in civil/structural engineering
