Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the manufacturing processes of mechanical systems and components, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and Development:
o Develop detailed mechanical designs and specifications for custom fabrication projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
o Utilize CAD/CAM software to create precise models and drawings for manufacturing processes.
• Project Management:
o Oversee the assembly, erection, and commissioning of mechanical systems and installations.
o Coordinate project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Manufacturing Oversight:
o Supervise the production team to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards during the manufacturing process.
o Establish and implement work measurement programs to optimize labor utilization and operational efficiency.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance:
o Develop and enforce standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
o Conduct regular inspections to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Maintenance and Optimization:
o Direct the maintenance of plant buildings and equipment, coordinating requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules.
o Analyze operational data and production schedules to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of proven experience in mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and project management within a fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and produce detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Strong knowledge of OH&S standards and a demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry best practices.
