Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Structural Engineer 3's for a contract opportunity in Chandler, AZ.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 10-14 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
o Working knowledge in one of the following software: Femap, NASTRAN, NASGRO, Abaqus, MathCAD, NX, Teamcenter.
o Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
o Demonstrated ability to use fundamental structural methods.
o Experience in designing/analyzing Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
o This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
o Active Secret security clearance.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for a Structural Engineer 3 to support our Structural Analysis department within Launch Vehicles (LV). As a member of the structure's team, you'll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside other analyst (including load and dynamics, thermal, aero, and materials testing) design engineers, and program engineering managers to make our technologies a reality.
Responsibilities:
o Support various launch vehicle programs by performing structural analysis including detailed hand calculations and linear and non-linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
o Present results to management and customer base while documenting detailed analysis reports for release.
o Identify and troubleshoot structural issues during preliminary/conceptual design and parallel to manufacturing.
o Communicate project status to direct manager and the Integration and Test (I&T) IPT Lead. Keep daily task organized and up to date.
o Collaborate with other functional engineers on the team to share insight on any structural issues and to maintain program schedule.
o Design, develop, and implement testing methods for metallic and composite material testing.
o Help to define structural design changes required in high temperature applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o A Master's degree in a STEM discipline or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 8-10 years of experience.
o Working knowledge of high temperature materials and testing for hypersonic applications
o Working knowledge of structural analysis for composites including carbon and ceramic materials.
o Familiarity with fatigue and fracture mechanics. Fracture Control Plans.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in STEM is required.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 9/80 workweek. 1st shift. 100% on-site.
