What you'll do as a CAD Operator

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the production of electronic engineered drawings, maintenance of the drawing database, and other duties and tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager. May occasionally be responsible for hand-sketched drawings.

Essential Functions

Works with CAD systems creating, modifying, and releasing drawings and work drawings under supervision of various technical members of the company for use by other departments and customers.

Works closely within the enterprise to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information.

Self-checks own work for completeness, accuracy and meeting standards.

Works from drawings sketches or scanned images, customer drawings or specifications.

Delivers drawings to other team members.

Responsible for maintaining appropriate paper quantities for plotters, printers, and copiers.

Keeps Engineering Manager informed of all activity, including timely preparation of required reports.

Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees and managers to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity and continued improvement.

Education:

Associates Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or related technical field or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

Two years working with AutoCAD.

Two years experience using computer systems, including MS Office.
