As a Shift Leader at Jersey Mike’s, you will support the management team in running daily operations with excellence. Key responsibilities include:
Leadership & Team Development
Lead and motivate a crew of 2–5 team members during assigned shifts
Coach and train staff to deliver outstanding customer service and uphold Jersey Mike’s standards
Support ongoing team development and career growth through hands-on mentoring
Enforce company policies, procedures, and food safety standards
Operations & Quality Execution
Ensure consistent preparation of high-quality food, including bread baking, slicing, and prep
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized restaurant environment
Oversee cash handling and register operations accurately and responsibly
Perform and manage all tasks related to store opening and closing
Customer Experience
Deliver the authentic Jersey Mike’s experience to every customer
Engage with guests to create a friendly, fast-paced, team-driven atmosphere
Handle customer concerns professionally and efficiently
Accountability & Standards
Model a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and integrity in every shift
Be certified and proficient in all four restaurant positions
Support local and national marketing initiatives to drive sales
A Shift Leader is expected to:
1. Move or Transport up to 50 lbs without assistance unless a medical notation is made whereas any physical disabilities are covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act or a temporary doctor's note with a time frame for the restriction on your ability;
2. Work 38-40 hours per week
3. Have the ability to get to and from work
4. Communicate with the GM/AGM/DM of any issues they are having
5. Lead by example in terms of quality of the food they make, the way they interact and provide customer service, and coming to work in a clean, fitted, and pressed uniform daily
Qualifications for the job:
• Education: High school degree or equivalent
• 1 Year QSR experience preferred, but not necessary
• Other: Must be 18 years or older to operate the slicer
• Serve Safe Certification - Food Handler preferred, but not necessary
• Must have reliable transportation
Full-time
