Under the direction of the Reservation Security Lieutenant, the Supervisor, Reservation Asset Protection is responsible for overseeing and leading the Reservation Asset Protection team whose function is to ensure the reservation’s physical security through CCTV/Surveillance operations. This role implements policies and procedures for the Reservation Asset Protection Team. Ensures compliance with Tribal ordinances, federal and state laws. Additionally, reports improper activity or disturbances to management and the Department of Public Safety (DPS). Ensures the safety of the Tribal Community, guests, and visitors to the San Manuel Reservation.

The Supervisor, Reservation Asset Protection commands an eye for detail, a high level of responsiveness, and a commitment to service. This role also collaborates, initiates, and supports opportunities with other functions by championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that reflects and upholds the Tribe’s vision, mission and values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Establishes work schedules and reports to assure that proper protection is provided. Oversees operations to assign the appropriate team members and assignments for optimal efficiency. Coordinates with other supervisors to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.

2. Reviews and coordinates information gathered for incidents and investigations to ensure proper reporting and case classification. Coordinates incident response with the DPS and Security Operations Center. Provides incident notifications following established policies.

3. Oversees and regularly evaluates team member performance and equipment for adherence to departmental standards. Monitors and instructs team members while on shift and assists on significant incidents or complex situations, as needed.

4. Participates in the administration of the department budget.

5. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Criminal Justice or related field is required.

Minimum two (2) years of CCTV surveillance experience required; four (4) years is preferred.

Minimum one (1) year of CCTV surveillance supervisory experience preferred.

Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

Experience working in a Tribal Government is highly preferred.

Experience working in Genetec and/or iTrak systems are highly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

Ability to deal with the public courteously and firmly, and to establish and maintain effective public relations.

Ability to remain neutral when presented with highly confidential information and to maintain confidentiality as expected.

Demonstrated ability to act tactfully and respectfully with others.

Ability to evaluate the relative importance of information and make appropriate recommendations in a timely manner.

Strong critical thinking skills, executive level oral and written communication and presentation skills are required.

Ability to function in a dynamic and complex environment while providing a high level of service to numerous constituencies.

Must successfully complete a 180-day introductory period and Onboarding Program.

Experience working on Microsoft Office platforms is preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Select One of the Following for Driving Responsibilities: Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS – ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting and in outdoor areas.

Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.

Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.

Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.

Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.

Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.

The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.

Must be able to work long hours under difficult and arduous conditions, frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and moderate noise levels (loud music), while standing or sitting for extended periods of time.

Employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions such as rain, wind, cold, and hot climates.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
