Location: Charleston Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Complex, Charleston, SC

Position Type: Full-time

Job Description:

The Stock Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing a wide variety of supplies, printed materials, student materials, and equipment in support of FLETC operations and training programs. The clerk maintains accurate inventory records and ensures that all stock is managed and distributed according to established procedures and federal property accountability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive and Inspect Deliveries

Accept incoming shipments, check them for damage or missing items, and match them with packing slips or purchase orders.

Store Items Properly

Place supplies, printed materials, and equipment in the correct locations using proper labeling and rotation methods (e.g., first-in, first-out).

Keep Inventory Records

Use a computer system to update inventory information, track stock levels, and make sure records are accurate and up to date.

Issue Supplies

Fulfill supply requests by pulling and handing out items with the right paperwork and approvals, and get signatures from recipients.

Maintain a Clean and Safe Warehouse

Keep storage areas neat, organized, and free from hazards. Report any unsafe conditions or damaged items.

Support Inventory Counts

Help with scheduled and special inventory checks to make sure stock numbers match what’s on record.

Assist Customers and Deliver Supplies

Help staff find what they need and, if required, deliver supplies to different parts of the facility.

Operate Warehouse Equipment Safely

Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks properly and safely (training will be provided if needed).

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.

1–2 years of experience in inventory, warehousing, or supply chain operations.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and inventory software.

Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds regularly.

Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping accuracy.
