About the Role

Barnsco Texas is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily branch operations and lead cross-functional teams in a high-performance, service-oriented environment. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for operational efficiency, safety, team development, and customer service excellence across key departments including Inventory Control, Dispatch, Rebar Fabrication, and Service Centers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily branch operations with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and safety

Support and execute strategic plans, budgets, and KPIs

Mentor and develop departmental leaders to build high-performing teams

Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to ensure exceptional client experiences

Implement process improvements using Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma principles

Maintain safety and compliance standards across all operational areas

Oversee asset and facility management, including fleet and equipment maintenance

Drive hiring, training, and team-building efforts across operations

Participate in executive-level planning and cross-branch initiatives

Ensure timely reporting and performance tracking through operational metrics

Qualifications

Required:

10+ years of experience in operations management (construction materials, fabrication, or distribution)

Proven leadership in team development, performance management, and customer service

Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills

Proficient in operations systems, reporting tools, and data analysis

Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field

Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma principles

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Knowledge of vendor management and facility maintenance best practices
