Financial Controller

(Path to CFO) – Minnesota-Based Company

A growing, entrepreneurial business with multiple entities and investment properties is seeking a Financial Controller with the vision and leadership to grow into a CFO role. With over $40M in combined annual revenue, we’re looking for a strategic thinker ready to help scale operations and drive financial performance.

What You’ll Do:

Lead all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting

Oversee accounting operations including AR/AP, GL, and job costing

Drive process automation, financial analysis, and KPI tracking

Guide monthly/quarterly close and reporting cycles

Manage and mentor a small accounting team

Work directly with ownership on strategic financial planning

Who You Are:

A hands-on leader with 5+ years in a Controller or similar role

Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and improving systems

Proficient in GAAP, job/WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion accounting

Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Skilled in Sage and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)

Able to travel periodically to the Twin Cities

Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus)
