Job Description:
Position: Collections Team Member
Overview:
As a member of the Collections Team, you will be responsible for managing delinquent auto loan accounts. Your primary duty is to contact customers with past-due payments to encourage timely resolution. This includes receiving payments, escalating unresolved accounts to the credit department, and maintaining accurate records of collection activities.
Work Schedule Overview
Work Format: Hybrid during the assignment
In-Office Requirement: Two days per week
Office Hours (On-Site Days): 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Remote Work: All employees work remotely on Fridays
Monthly Requirement: In-office attendance for an all-hands meeting once a month
Weekend Shift: Required to work every third Saturday
Shift Options: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST or 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM EST
Compensation: Offset with a half-day off during the same week
Key Responsibilities:
Locate and contact customers regarding delinquent auto loan accounts.
Solicit payment arrangements and ensure timely resolution.
Document all communications and maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies.
Prepare and submit statements or reports to the credit department when necessary.
Comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong analytical and organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Solid mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Working knowledge of relevant collection laws and compliance standards.
Training Schedule:
Approximately 5 weeks of hybrid training
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM MST
In-office attendance required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during training
Successful completion of training with a minimum score of 80% on final exam(s) is required
Post-Training Work Schedule:
Monday–Thursday: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM MST
Fridays: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM MST
Saturdays: Rotating schedule approximately every third week, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM MST
Minimum of 2–3 days in-office per week required
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $19.00 – $24.00 (based on experience)
Bonus Potential: Average of $500 per month based on performance
