ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in basic machine setups and operations under supervision to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
Performs basic measurements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure conformance to specifications.
Learns and apply fundamental machining calculations, including simple tolerances and basic GD&T concepts.
Assists in material handling, tool setup, and maintenance of machines (e.g., cleaning, lubrication).
Observes and follows safety protocols to ensure proper machine operation and workplace safety.
Supports experienced machinists by shadowing on complex setups and adjustments.
Documents production data and maintain work logs to track completed parts and quality checks.
Ad-hoc projects as needed.

Education And/Or Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent required
0-3 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills
Ability to interpret simple technical drawings and specifications with guidance.
Basic proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and gauges for simple measurements.
Understanding of basic geometry, algebra, and measurement principles for machining.
Exposure to manual and CNC machining processes, including lathe and milling machine operations under supervision.
Basic knowledge of common metals, plastics, cutting tools, and machining techniques.
Understanding of fundamental machine maintenance (lubrication, cleaning) and adherence to safety protocols.
Ability to identify obvious machining errors and seek guidance for corrections.
Familiarity with basic shop procedures, work orders, and quality checks
