We’re partnered with a high-performing food manufacturing company that’s undergoing a full-scale infrastructure transformation across their national footprint. With growing production demands and a push toward hybrid cloud environments, they’re building modern, secure, and resilient systems to support mission-critical operations.
This is a rare opportunity to lead infrastructure architecture at the ground level for a company that’s both deeply stable and scaling fast behind the scenes. You’ll own design decisions that touch production lines, enterprise apps, cloud platforms, and disaster recovery - without the red tape of bloated IT orgs.
The Role
They’re looking for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to drive the evolution of their backend systems - from legacy on-prem environments to a hybrid colocation and cloud strategy.
You’ll act as the technical lead for everything compute, storage, and DR - partnering with security, operations, and software teams to keep infrastructure modern, available, and scalable.
Core responsibilities
Architect resilient virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) across multiple facilities
Lead migrations to colocation and hybrid cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Build robust DR and backup systems using tools like Veeam and Pure Storage
Design scalable enterprise storage (SAN, NAS, HCI) and optimize for performance
Support business-critical apps (ERP, MES, SQL Server) in a 24/7 manufacturing context
Act as SME for Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and authentication infrastructure
Requirements
10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with 8+ in manufacturing or high-availability environments
Deep expertise in virtualization, storage, and backup technologies
Familiar with hybrid cloud models, observability, and DR architecture
Comfortable leading cross-functional infrastructure projects end-to-end
US Based and willing to be onsite in Cleveland 3 days a week
Bonus
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SAP, or MES platforms
Exposure to regulated or compliance-heavy operational environments
Knowledge of network and infrastructure security at the enterprise level
Why this team?
This is a senior-level, high-impact position with visibility across leadership, operations, and engineering. You’ll help shape infrastructure strategy from the inside out - at a company that values reliability, autonomy, and long-term thinking.
If you’ve worked deep in the stack at scale, understand the stakes in manufacturing IT, and are ready to lead infrastructure the right way, this could be your next move.
