OVERVIEW

A Venture First Analyst is a central member of the team and will interact directly with CEOs and CFOs of leading healthcare, technology, consumer packaged goods, and other entrepreneurial ventures. This position will take the lead on preparing and delivering insightful analysis and due diligence work for both services clients and potential investments. This role will provide exposure to various types of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital raises, refinancing, and leveraged buyouts. A central responsibility is to synthesize all available information and distill the facts into concise economic reports, financial models or investment decks while providing the highest level of customer service to our clients and investors. This position will also provide oversight and training to the Financial Analysis interns and team members.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or equivalent work experience.

Series 65 or obtain within 90 days

1-3 years related work experience preferred. CFA Level I or above preferred.

Intricate knowledge of Excel and well versed with financial statements.

Advanced skills in excel modeling.

Keen attention to detail and demonstrated ability to produce error-free deliverables with minimal oversight.

Deadline-driven with the ability to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communicator who can explain complex financial concepts to a variety of audiences.

DUTIES

Research and analyze financial statements, general economic and industry-specific developments, acquisitions and divestitures, and various investment attributes of early- and growth-stage companies.

Participate in financial due diligence engagements with both private equity and strategic corporate buyers.

Create investor-grade pitch decks, financial models, and other analyses distilling company and/or deal data into an informative, concise report.

Interface with client CEOs and CFOs to understand specific company needs related to engagements and drive data collection/due diligence process.

Must quickly become well versed in and be able to articulate the strategic direction of our business, the company’s performance and the key factors driving the results.

Develop and enhance processes & procedures to support an effective investor relations program and work with senior management to ensure the appropriate messages are included in all investor interactions. Play a leading role in communication with the investment community, including institutional shareholders and financial analysts. Prepare and review supporting materials related to investor conferences and events, including slides and speaking notes

Must effectively manage the investment community’s expectations and timely requests for information.

Collaborating with the finance and operational teams to develop the quarterly communication strategy and key messages

Act as primary contact for stakeholders and clients with respect to following up on any call details or questions related to the financial results

Complete ad-hoc financial analysis and financial modeling to assist CEO.

Assist as needed with early-stage venture valuations.

Participate in training and development of interns and other Financial Analysts
