The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the recording, tracking, and reporting of financial information. As well as hire, train, and motivate, accounting staff members. This is an opportunity for a long-term position and to join a growing company.
Responsibilities
Review Billing for accuracy and profitability
Oversee collections activity and involving other departments as needed
Oversee accounts payable for accurate coding of vendor invoices
Process job cost invoicing (familiarity with AIA invoicing a plus)
Prepare percentage of completion report at month-end
Analyze closed jobs for profitability and accuracy
Analysis closed jobs for profitability
Perform account reconciliations at month end
Manage staff – ensure balanced workflow
Review processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Review intercompany transactions
Prepare Sales Tax returns in multiple states
Processing commission reports for the sales department
Maintain fixed asset database for depreciation reports
Support other department managers with accounting related functions, i.e. year end inventory, transactional questions impacting the general ledger.
Work with Controller to ensure month end financial statements completed in timely fashion
Assist in accounting projects or perform other duties as required to support the Controller
Requirements and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience in management, accounting, or related field
Must have strong understanding of accounting principles and reporting standards
Ability to lead, motivate and supervise accounting staff
Proficiency with computers, especially bookkeeping software and Microsoft Office Software, Fixed asset database, depreciation, POC (percentage of completion).
High level of efficiency and accuracy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
