Summary
As a Sr. Data Scientist- Assurance Analyst for Secure Systems Engineering Services, you will lead and support moderate to highly complex data science and analytics projects with other analysts to identify, analyze, and prioritize malicious activities and threat vectors as observed within supply chains, technologies, and nuclear weapons production activities. As a Data Scientist you will effectively communicate formal assessments to decision makers and stakeholders in order to drive effective risk management measures. Job functions include building AI/ML applications and products to analyze data for projects and initiatives. The Sr Data Scientist leads highly complex problem analysis, customer interaction, solution design, front-end and back-end integration, maintenance, and support of data science and analytics solutions for manufacturing or business applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a Data Scientist with a focus on AI & machine learning applications centered on threats, vulnerability, and risk in nuclear weapons assurance activities.
Evaluations- Conduct analysis of current active threats and vulnerability vectors within active infrastructure.
Integration- Develop data analysis integration tools and processes for Threat, Vulnerability, Digital Assurance, OT, technology development, supply chain/strategic sourcing, and external partners. Work with partners for collaboration points, strategic initiatives, and programs.
Metrics & data integration- Providing dashboard analysis and synthesize data for decision makers and key stakeholders in initiatives.
Tool Development- Inform and advise for the development of AI/ML tools and applications for utilization within the program.
Independently develops data science models or algorithms using disciplined software development processes, making recommendations for developing new code or re-using existing code, implementing version control and maintaining documentation of created applications.
Interfaces with multiple stakeholders and team members to improve predictability of business or manufacturing operations.
Collaborates with internal web application development team accessible throughout KCNSC to incorporate established models into stakeholder daily decision-making processes.
Partners with data science team to provide solutions to stakeholder challenges on a variety of topics.
Stays current with relevant emerging technology to make recommendations on investment opportunities.
Demonstrates project management skills, serving as project lead.
Guides and produces information products, supporting visualization and data accessibility in a customer centric manner.
You Must Have
At least five years relevant experience in data science or related technical activities.
BS in engineering from ABET accredited institution OR Master’s degree in data science or related field, OR two additional years of relevant experience.
Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
United States Citizenship.
Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
