Accounting Manager
Housing Matters partners with individuals and families to create pathways out of their homelessness into permanent housing. As part of the Housing Matters financial compliance team, the Accounting Manager oversees aspects of the finance department under supervision of the Director of Finance & Accounting.

Accounting Manager Starting Wage (Depending on Experience):
$83,429 or $87,610
Preferred Experience and Education Requirements:
BA/BS required in Accounting or related fields.
5 Years of experience in Accounting, grant management or equivalent
Thorough Knowledge of:
Grant and contract budgeting and compliance.
Maintaining accurate records and reporting.
Coordinating and completing annual audits.
Accounts payable, Account Receivable and payroll procedures.
Bookkeeping, accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Google Suite, Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.
Housing Matters specific policies and procedures.
Sage Intacct and Asana a plus
Typical Job Duties:
Supervise and support accounting staff with routine operations and reporting responsibilities.
Lead the monthly, quarterly, annual, and grant-specific financial close processes including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, cost allocations, and reporting.
Manage the organization’s payable and receivable systems, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with funder and audit requirements.
Manage organizational annual financial audit with the Director of Finance & Accounting serve as the primary lead for the federal single audit as well as managing funder monitoring.
Prepares and manages budgets for government contracts and grants.
Responsible for financial compliance of federal, state and local contracts and grant awards.
Review new government grants and contracts for fiscal feasibility, deliverables, and reporting deadlines before execution.
Oversees architecture of the accounting system (Sage Intacct) and ensures all funding sources and programs are represented and tracked in the accounting system in compliance with each contract.
With the assistance of the Finance Team, maintains documentation, including Contracts, Memos of Understanding, Letters of Support, Partnership Agreements, Match documentation etc.
Collaborate with program staff to ensure understanding and ownership of budget performance and reporting responsibilities.
Review and approve grant expenditures and assist with determining allowability and allocability of costs in accordance with funder terms.
Coordinate submitting government contract amendments and renewal application.
Monitor financial performance of grant-funded programs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including 2 CFR Part 200 (OMB Uniform Guidance).Other duties as assigned.
