LOCATION: 485 W 3rd St. Dover, OH 44622
SCHEDULE: 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday
THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Tooling Manager
ROLE: Manufacture or fabricate assortment of Tools, Jigs and fixtures (internal and unique product used to hold, form or shape product) per print specification with guidance from either the Master or Journeyman Toolmakers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce tools Jigs and fixtures use to create, form, hold or shape AMEC’s product in the manufacturing process.
Setup and operate the following tooling machines: Bridgeport milling machine, Saw, Manual Lathe, Surface grinders.
Program machining centers in the tooling department.
Complete inspection of all items in department using but not limited to; Optical comparator, Micrometers, Depth micrometers, Calipers, Scale, Surface plate and Height stand.
Bench or manual work and assemble of components.
Prioritize work by the Alps scheduling system.
All other duties assign by supervisor.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
Two years on machine operations.
Have completed two years of schooling in an Apprenticeship program, preferred.
Currently pursuing or enrolling in AMEC Apprenticeship program, preferred.
Complete the Apprenticeship program within the next available classes, preferred.
Low absenteeism/tardiness, as determined by management.
Skills
Leader ship where it is appropriate (encouraging better performance, product improvement, innovative, reducing tensions between individuals and higher morale).
Blue print reading, in depth.
Programming functions preferred.
Trigonometry functions (study of triangles, formulas to calculate lengths related to triangles).
Team working (to work together as one unit).
Problem solving or Trouble shooting (overcoming barriers to reach a definite goal).
Self-motivated (voluntary pursuit of work and knowledge).
Organizational (everything in its place, controlling their environment, ability to operate effectively).
Minimum requirements
Ability to lift 32 lbs.
Able to push loads of 100lbs.
Ability to use calipers, micrometers, indicators, scales and other inspection equipment.
On feet 8-12 hrs.
Follow schedules.
