The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the Cardiovascular Services Department provides essential support to patients with cardiac, vascular and pulmonary conditions. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the CNA assists with patient care activities, monitors vital signs, supports patients during therapeutic exercises and assists with clerical duties. The CNA helps maintain a clean and safe environment, encourages patient participation in their recovery, and ensures comfort and safety throughout the rehabilitation process. Maintains a customer friendly environment by treating all individuals with dignity, respect and concern for their well-being and maintains patient confidentiality. This role is critical in promoting positive patient outcomes and delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
Requirements
Must have Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Certification issued by Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS)
Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Previous CNA/PCT experience is preferred.
Experience with electronic medical records is preferred

Essential Job Duties
Assist with checking Wellness Clients in and out of the dept. by obtaining vital signs, screening for a change in medical status or patient concerns and reporting any client concerns or possible change in medical status to RN.
Assist with monitoring the participants in the department while using the exercise equipment and may assist them in changing exercise modalities to help maintain participant safety.
Complete documentation of the Wellness Exercise Logs including client Vital Signs, exercise intensity/time, any upcoming appointments or comments pertinent to their care.
Assist with attaching cardiac monitors on Cardiac Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab/Outpatient Respiratory services (ORS) and peripheral vascular patients undergoing Supervised Exercise Therapy or (SET). May be asked to obtain vital signs by the RN at times during their session. May assist the patient to another exercise modality as needed to help maintain safety.
Perform EKG's in the department. EKG's will be reviewed by RN before the patient leaves department.
Complete process for hooking patients up to Holter monitors and giving patient instructions for the test.
Enter charges, confirm charges and complete dept. processes in EMR for services, tests and procedures performed in the dept. This includes scanning documents as required into the EMR and faxing completed tests to ordering physicians/providers.
Assist in departmental cleaning/maintenance duties, ordering/restocking supplies, checking for outdated supplies/medications and completing associated department logs.
Assist in restocking patient education materials for the Cardiac, Pulmonary/ORS and SET programs, prepping Admission packets, breaking down patient charts, checking program charges, and scanning the chart per department protocol.
Assist with prepping charts for Stress Test Patients and may be asked to do reminder phone calls to patients the day prior to confirm instructions and test time/date.
May be asked to assist with calling insurance companies to obtain a prior authorization as needed.
Assist on Stress Test days; duties may include setup of equipment, obtaining vital signs, ordering/obtaining food and drinks for patients from the kitchen, assisting or escorting patients between departments as needed and potentially staying with patient in radiology while they are under the camera.
Assist with Outpatient Cardiology Clinic Chart Preparation as needed.
May be asked to assist with rooming patients in the Out-Patient Cardiology Clinic.
Miscellaneous clerical duties may be assigned: for ex: entering patient survey results into spreadsheets.
