An exciting career awaits you at Pomerene, we are looking for a part-time Patient Access Rep to join our team. This position will work approximately 24 hours per week.
Job Summary
An opening currently exists for a Patient Access Representative in the Admitting Department. The daily work hours for this position will be scheduled by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.
The Patient Account Registrar interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics. This position also secures insurance information, eligibility, and benefits. Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Ability to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Participates in committees and follows Pomerene’s values.
Essential Functions
Moves throughout the facility, appropriately assists in emergency drills and performs the physical requirements needed to deliver services as assigned.
Performs the manual and administrative responsibilities of this position according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
Provides a positive internal and external communication system for all customers.
Prioritizes tasks in a changing work environment and can perform work with frequent interruptions.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED- Required.
Experience with Admissions in a Healthcare/Medical Setting- Preferred.
Customer Service Skills- Required.
Computer Skills, Medical Terminology, Office Microsoft Usage- Preferred.
