Job Summary:

The Landscape Architectural Intern provides support to the landscaping and site planning team on active projects. This role involves assisting with drafting designs, conducting site analysis, preparing presentation materials, and coordinating project documentation. The intern works under the direct supervision of licensed landscape architects and project managers, gaining hands-on experience in both office and field environments. Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in landscape architecture or a related field and are eager to apply their design knowledge and creativity in real-world applications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing landscape designs, layout plans, planting plans, and construction drawings.

Support site visits for surveys, measurements, and documentation.

Research materials, plant species, and site-specific information.

Develop renderings, diagrams, and concept visuals for internal and client presentations.

Work with CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design software to assist with project development.

Assist with documentation related to permitting, zoning, and code compliance.

Maintain project files and organization of digital drawing sets.

Collaborate with project teams across disciplines to ensure project goals are met.

Participate in team meetings, take notes, and assist with action item follow-up.

Other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field.

OSHA 10 certification preferred or ability to obtain.

Valid Driver’s License.

Experience

Previous internship or academic studio experience in landscape architecture or urban design is preferred.

Familiarity with landscape architectural concepts, materials, and sustainable practices.

Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and/or Lumion is a plus.

Required Skills/Abilities

Strong design and visual communication skills.

Proficiency in reading site plans, maps, and construction documents.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Detail-oriented and highly organized.

Willingness to learn and adapt to feedback.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
