Job Description

Trystar is at the forefront of advancing power solutions, charged and driven by a committed, dynamic team, tackling complex challenges, and creating innovative solutions. Safety and integrity aren’t just buzzwords. They are the ‘north star’ guiding us as we aspire to wow our customers every day. We’ve created electrical power solutions that are not only durable and unique but are also the result of serious teamwork from every corner of our organization. Individually and collectively, every team member at Trystar plays for each other and strives to deliver unmatched value and 100% accuracy to our customers every single day.

As a big name and pioneer in electrical power solutions, we’re not just part of the power conversation – we’re shaping its future, and we’re doing so across diverse industry sectors including healthcare, data centers, entertainment, education, government, and commercial construction – just to name a few! We’re committed to growing and evolving our product lineup to stay on top of the game and that includes leaning into sustainable, resilient, and renewable energy solutions.

Our cutting-edge headquarters in Faribault, MN, is partially solar- and wind-powered by our own microgrid! You’ll find that we’re also pushing boundaries across the country at our additional facilities across North America. Together, we are Trystar, where we power the future and nurture innovation for a brighter tomorrow.

Trystar’s team members are our most important asset. We are searching for a highly skilled Senior Electromechanical Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team (Burnsville, MN; Faribault, MN; Houston, TX). In this role, you will lead the design, development, and integration of electromechanical systems for our advanced electrical power solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability, while also contributing to the innovation of renewable and sustainable energy technologies. As part of the engineering team, you will see products from the engineering prototype phase to series production. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented, experienced, and motivated engineer who enjoys the challenge of solving complex problems with creative and innovative solutions while working with multiple different cross-functional teams.

We are looking for people who believe in our guiding principles and values of:

Safety. We believe everyone should leave Trystar facilities in the same or better condition than when they arrived.

Integrity. We’re honest, transparent, and committed to doing what’s right.

Customer Focus. We have relentless focus on our customers and their success.

Right with Speed. We use good judgement, make thoughtful decisions quickly, and execute them with purpose and intensity.

Play for Each Other. We’re a team. We show up for each other and we know that through teamwork we achieve greatness.

Champion Change. We know adaptation and improvement are requirements to survive and to thrive.

Enjoy the Journey. We create an environment where our team feels appreciated and has fun along the way.

In this role you will get to:

Lead the design and development of electromechanical systems for electrical power solutions, ensuring seamless integration of electrical, mechanical, and control components.

Conduct system-level design, analysis, and testing to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Collaborate with commercial, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs are safe, manufacturable, and meet customer requirements.

Perform testing and validation of systems, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.

Contribute to project execution, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, while ensuring timely delivery of solutions.

Stay current with advancements in electromechanical engineering, renewable energy, and power systems to drive innovation within the company.
