We have an opportunity for an experienced ESS Technician III to fill a position for a key client. This position requires TS/SCI Clearance or the ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance. This is an extremely technical position with extensive network, IT, cybersecurity and security systems expertise required to provide field service and maintenance to our clients.

Job Details

The ESS Service Technician III is a senior-level role responsible for the advanced installation, servicing, and troubleshooting of complex security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related network infrastructure. The Technician III leads service teams, provides mentorship to junior technicians, and ensures all work meets technical, quality, and safety standards. The senior technician will also ensure the service team provides exceptional customer service and clearly communicates and documents work activities.

Responsibilities

Provide onsite technical support to design, build, install, configure, maintain, and operate an HPSD-12 FIPS 140-2 compliant ESS

Lead the installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of advanced security systems, including I.P. cameras, access control card readers, entry control locking hardware, intrusion detection sensors, system control software, and other integrated technologies

Provide expert-level troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair for complex system malfunctions, including installation of replacement hardware when necessary

Demonstrate proficiency in following technical design drawings, electrical layouts, building plans, and blueprints, as well as installing, routing, and terminating cable to field devices and within control panels

Ensure proper cable labeling and clean, professional cable management for installations

Program, update, and manage security system software, including firmware updates and custom configurations

Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing technical guidance, training, and feedback

Inspect and evaluate system installations and service calls to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and customer requirements

Oversee system testing and final quality checks to ensure technical and functional requirements are satisfied

Document quality checks where required, for example signal loss or communications continuity for installed and terminated cables

Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion and address technical challenges

Lead large-scale, critical service, and installation projects and take ownership of the most technically challenging service calls

Maintain customer satisfaction by providing detailed explanations, offering system demonstrations, and ensuring that clients fully understand the functionality of their system

Ensure all work activities are properly and thoroughly documented, including troubleshooting steps, issue diagnosis, and recommended repair actions or hardware needed, as well as current status for any ongoing efforts

Maintain awareness and compliance with approval process for work orders, facility access, equipment procurement, and service ticket signoff.

Escalate issues to the Project Manager or designated customer POC when appropriate

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. government security clearance or the ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance up to the level of Top Secret

Must have a minimum of 5 full years of experience in the low voltage / CCTV / security industry, with a focus on complex system integrations

Advanced certifications in security systems required (LenelS2 OnGuard and Milestone preferred)

Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system schematics

Advanced technical skills in troubleshooting, software configuration, and network security systems

Strong leadership and project supervisory skills, with the ability to oversee teams and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues in an understandable way

Experience supporting commercial, DOD, and/or federal government IT infrastructure; IT infrastructure for Electronic Security Systems (ACS / IDS / VSS / Biometrics) is strongly preferred

Work Environment

This position is 100% field-based; requires regular visits to work sites in the field; site conditions will vary.
