Job Description

Shift: 1st Shift

Hire type: Contract to Hire (6 months)

Pay Range: $24 - $30 /hr

Overview:

A long-established, stable manufacturer serving the aerospace and high-performance air compressor industries is seeking skilled CNC Machinists for 1st and 2nd shift roles. This is a great opportunity for experienced machinists looking for a steady role in a clean, low-volume, high-mix environment with strong attention to quality and detail.

Shifts:

1st Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

2nd Shift: 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. (with occasional overtime until 3:30 a.m.)

Preference for candidates who are not seeking excessive overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills (Duscon and Haas equipment)

Run parts using existing programs and tooling; adjust offsets to achieve good first-piece quality

Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision gauges

Accurately interpret technical drawings, including complex GD&T callouts

Document inspections and maintain clear records as part of quality control

Collaborate with inspection team and occasionally assist in troubleshooting

Must-Haves:

High school diploma or GED

2–3+ years of CNC machining experience in a job shop environment

Experience with CNC lathes, mills, and mill-turn machines

Strong understanding of precision measurement tools and techniques

Ability to read technical drawings and follow complex instructions

Stable work history — preference for candidates with long tenures at previous employers

Nice-to-Haves:

Experience with Duscon and Haas machines

Familiarity with Fanuc-controlled CNC equipment

Basic CNC programming/editing skills (Esprit 2020 or Esprit Edge)

Ability to troubleshoot programs and solve inspection-related challenges
