Position Title: Mechanical Methods and Validation Engineer

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Mechanical Methods and Validation Engineer opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

Work with testing and methods teams to support design of tests for validating mechanical analysis methods

Develop pretest predictions, benchmark test data, and oversee validation tests to determine acceptability of test data in real time

Document validation benchmarks in reports to support methods validation

Support methods development work with uncertainty quantification

Perform mechanical analysis to support design of reactor core system and components

Contribute to software quality assurance of in-house and commercially developed software.

Job Qualifications:

B.S. or Masters in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent

10+ years professional mechanical analysis experience using hand calculations and finite element methods

Extensive experience with mechanical testing for validating analysis methods, including experience with test instrumentation

Prior nuclear industry experience preferred

Strong coding skills using Python preferred

Abaqus experience preferred

Strong communication skills desired

Must possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork

Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.

Pay Rate Range: $84-90/hr.

Location: Hybrid (Local) or Remote
