Job Description
LHH is working with a law firm in Troy, MI and is seeking a Legal Assistant to to support its Estate and Trust group.. While the role officially calls for five years of legal support experience, we are open to considering strong candidates with at least three years of relevant experience—especially those who can hit the ground running in a high-touch, high-net-worth estate planning environment (not your average wills-and-trusts desk).
This is a client-facing role working closely with attorneys and paralegals to deliver exceptional service to individuals with complex estate planning needs.What You’ll Do
Prepare estate planning documents: wills, trusts, powers of attorney, deeds, probate pleadings, and related materials
Coordinate and schedule estate plan signings and maintain updated client binders
Maintain digital and physical client files in line with firm policy and legal standards
Draft correspondence and handle document assembly/distribution
Track and log trust/estate tax and financial records (including bank statements and tax info)
Communicate professionally with clients, fiduciaries, and beneficiaries
Manage attorney calendars, meetings, and travel schedules
Process attorney expense reimbursements
Open and maintain client matters, ensuring confidentiality at all timesWhat We’re Looking For
Minimum 3–5 years of legal assistant experience, ideally in estate planning or probate
Exceptional organization and multitasking skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Accuracy in grammar, editing, and document preparation
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with HotDocs and ProSystems Fx a plus
High level of professionalism and discretion, especially when working with high-net-worth clients
Self-starter with strong judgment and the ability to work independentlyWork Schedule
In-office presence required in the Troy office
Remote work allowed up to 4 days per month, but no more than 2 days in a single week
This is a full-time, on-site role with limited hybrid flexibility, depending on schedulingSalary $60,000 - $70,000
Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
