Job Description
This role will support the site with routine process testing, compliance and operations testing, reporting, inspections, and record keeping.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance and operational testing for the mill’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitted wastewater treatment plant
Routine mill process testing to support operations
Routine report generation and maintenance of mill technical database.
OSHA confined space entry testing and permitting.
Maintenance of mill lab supplies and equipment.
Interaction with Georgia EPD and regulatory agencies. This includes required reporting, recordkeeping, and inspections.
Storm water and oil spill protection monitoring, testing, reporting, recordkeeping, and inspections.
Regular weekend duty for compliance and safety purposes.
Assist Environmental and Process Engineers. Must earn a Georgia Waste Water Treatment Plant Lab Analyst certification within 1 year of employment.
Education and Skills:
Preferably a degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science. A technical degree with related industrial experience will be considered.
Laboratory and analytical skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word )
Ability to work in a physically demanding, noisy industrial setting. Also must be able to work at heights and in confined areas.
