The Department of Marketing at Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business Communication position, starting Fall 2026. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in a closely related field by the start date. We seek candidates with a demonstrated ability to publish high-quality, relevant research in peer-reviewed journals.
The primary teaching responsibility will be the undergraduate course “Messaging and Persuasion: Effective Business Communication,” which focuses on developing professional writing, speaking, critical thinking, and persuasive messaging skills. In addition, the successful candidate may teach other undergraduate or graduate Marketing courses as needed by the department.
Excellence in teaching, a commitment to innovation, and demonstrated effectiveness in using technology in the classroom are expected. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, weekend, Fairfield and/or Bellarmine campuses, and may be delivered face-to-face, hybrid, or online. Industry experience in business communication or related fields is highly desirable to ensure practical relevance in the classroom.
