The Learning & Development Partner (Retail) will be responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic training initiatives within a designated retail territory across JD North America, based at our corporate office in Indianapolis. This role will design and facilitate both in-store and classroom-based training sessions focused on enhancing sales, customer service, business acumen, operational policies and procedures, and leadership development. In addition to training delivery, the L&D Partner will act as a key resource and strategic partner to store leadership teams within their territory, supporting performance improvement and capability building across locations. Partners with retail leadership to align on training priorities and goals that support the broader learning and development vision.

Develops and maintains training content and resources within the e-learning platform and L&D connect page.

Oversees the execution of, tracks, and reports upon in-store training within a designated territory.

Coordinates and delivers Retail Pathways programs by selecting, developing, and supporting management participants.

Manages applicant interviews and overall program administration.

Facilitates onboarding and training for new and internally promoted managers, ensuring effective integration through structured training plans and learning modules.

Conducts follow-ups with managers who have completed training to reinforce understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Works closely with regional and area-level leadership to identify specific training opportunities.

Works cross-functionally with other departments to enhance learning opportunities and support business goals.

Identifies high-performing stores capable of hosting and training new team members and managers.

Integrates business updates, evolving best practices, and shifting priorities into training strategies and execution plans.

Partners with the People Team to align on and distribute relevant learning programs that support store-level development.

Recommends process improvements to leadership based on feedback and performance data gathered through training programs.

Builds strong partnerships with retail employees to promote training engagement and support succession planning efforts.

Provides training support for new store openings to ensure successful launch and team readiness.

Performs additional duties and projects as required.

Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent retail management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-4 years of training experience required, preferably in a retail store setting. Internal JD Finish Line experience is strongly preferred.

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills

Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Google Suite and Microsoft Products.
