An exciting and challenging leadership opportunity exists at a comprehensive technical college located in a rural, developing area of South Carolina. The college serves Bamberg, Barnwell, and Allendale Counties. The campus stands on 53 beautifully landscaped acres of land conveniently located about 50 miles south of Columbia, 85 miles northeast of Charleston, and 50 miles east of Augusta, Georgia.
The Presidential Search Committee for Denmark Technical College in Denmark, S.C., one of sixteen colleges in the South Carolina Technical College System, invites applications and nominations for the position of President, the chief executive officer of the college. Denmark Technical College is a full-time residential campus. Denmark Technical College offers accessible, quality higher educational opportunities to citizens within the service area through off-campus sites and evening college in Bamberg, Barnwell, and Allendale counties. The college offers 30 programs leading to an associate degree, diploma, or certificate in technical/occupational disciplines. Associate in arts and associate in science degrees, transferable to baccalaureate programs, are also offered. The 2024 combined student population of the College was 675 with an FTE enrollment of 513. Denmark Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Three academic programs hold national accreditation: Early Care and Education associate degree by the National Association for the Education of Young Children; Electromechanical Engineering Technology associate degree by the Accrediting Board for Engineering Technology; and General Business associate degree by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. The College employs a full-time faculty and staff of 63 employees; and 34 part-time employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
A master’s degree is required; an earned doctorate preferred.
Ten years of progressively responsible experiences in postsecondary education and/or senior-level administration.
An open, proactive, creative, and entrepreneurial style of leadership that embraces collaborative decision-making and relationships;
A clear understanding of and commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive technical/community college and excellence in teaching, student success and academic integrity;
Extensive experience in or knowledge of industrial and economic development programs;
A commitment to fully engaging with political and community leaders on economic development initiatives;
A strong knowledge of fiscal management and a commitment to resource development to include fundraising;
A proven record of effective strategic planning and implementation of strategic actions;
A demonstrated ability to work with local, state, and national elected officials to achieve college goals; and
A successful record of promoting partnerships with various constituencies including other educational entities, business and industry and community groups.

Denmark Technical College is in Group I of colleges within the South Carolina Technical College System. The salary offered is based on experience and other factors with final approval by the SC Agency Head Salary Commission. The salary range for Group I is $158,202 - $201,018 - $245,243.
