Job Description

The Senior Principal Architect is responsible for initiating and leading strategic solutions that fulfill specific business and technology outcomes.

This role will provide leadership in many technological areas but will be focusing on cloud transformation and integration. Solutions include projects, products, systems (including applications, technologies, processes, and information), shared infrastructure services and shared application services. The Senior Principal Architect leads the analysis and design tasks to support the development of enterprise solutions that cross multiple domains to ensure that the resulting architecture meets the business needs and aligns with architecture governance and standards. This position also leads the creation of deliverables that help develop target-state guidance (reusable standards, guidelines, individual parts, platforms, and configurations) for evolving the architecture across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

Develop an enterprise integration strategy to achieve enterprise architecture goals and objectives.

Develop and manage an enterprise cloud platform strategy that includes blueprints, roadmaps and executive presentations in support of overall business goals and objectives.

Provide leadership level architecture guidance for cloud transformation and integration

Research, drive, and lead adoption of emerging technology trends, disruptions, and practices relevant to the organization

Lead and/or facilitate strategy development for assigned domain

Engage leadership to identify business and technology-enabled innovation opportunities that enable and drive business outcomes

Lead the development and application of principles, standards, and patterns through the architecture assurance and governance model

Develop, maintain, and evolve the architecture and solution context (current state, transition state, and future state) across domains

Lead the analysis of the business-IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommend solutions for improvement

Lead the evaluation and selection of software and technology product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations

Work closely with the product portfolio owners and product managers to drive a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product and solution lifecycle

Coach, mentor, and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and architecture peers to develop architecture that enables and drive new business capabilities and operating models

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required

10 years of related work experience in Business Analysis, System Design and Development, Systems Engineering, or technical architecture; to include 5 years direct experience working within an Architect role

Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

AWS and or/GCP

Background in a varied set of technologies such as Java, .NET, relational databases and IBMi.

Significant experience defining and standardizing design and architecture patterns for assigned domain

Significant experience in facilitating strategic IT work, architecture work and IT teams

Advanced ability to collaborate and facilitate using virtual meeting technologies and virtual whiteboards

Advanced ability to communicate and present effectively at multiple levels of the organization

Ability to define, plan, initiate and lead architecture and teams for assigned area and scope

Demonstrate wide understanding of multiple domain areas, with ability to apply practical and pragmatic solutions.

Self-learner, ability to work independently and direct the learning and work of others

Experience handling all solution types, ranging from organization and process to implementing new system builds, legacy enhancements, commercial-off-the-shelf packages, and Cloud solutions

Experience as a senior level architect working on significant enterprise initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA and/or PCI)

Previous experience in PBM / health care industry

Previous experience working in an Agile/Product Delivery model

Strong experience with software development life cycle and project management principles

In-depth knowledge of two or more architectural domains (application, infrastructure, integration, and/or security)

Formal Enterprise Architecture training and certification

Experience modeling Enterprise Architectures with industry standard modeling notation

Physical Demands

Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Potential pay for this position ranges from $143,000.00 - $243,000.00 based on experience and skills.
