Position Summary The Guardianship Clerk performs specialized clerical and administrative duties related to the filing, processing, and maintenance of guardianship case files.

Under general supervision, this position requires a strong understanding of the legal system, strict adherence to confidentiality, and exceptional attention to detail.

The role involves direct communication with the public, attorneys, court officials, and state and county departments.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and a thorough understanding of statutory requirements surrounding guardianship matters.

Key Responsibilities * Process guardianship cases received via the Efile System and office Case Management System in accordance with applicable laws and procedures * Maintain accurate and confidential guardianship case records * Issue notices, letters, orders, and legal documents as required by law or directed by the Court * Track and update documentation related to annual reports, inventories, and accountings submitted by guardians * Review filings to ensure statutory compliance and coordinate with the Court for deficiencies * Monitor and maintain deadlines and legal requirements for ongoing guardianship oversight * Calculate and collect filing fees and other court-related costs * Research applicable laws and stay current on guardianship statutes and court procedures Required Qualifications * High School diploma or GED equivalent * Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat * Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute * Familiarity with standard office equipment (fax, copier, calculator, etc.) Preferred Qualifications * Prior experience in a legal or judicial setting, particularly in probate or guardianship * Knowledge of guardianship laws, probate code, and court procedures Essential Skills * Excellent written and verbal communication * Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail * Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines * Strong interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and discretion * Professional demeanor in dealing with the public, legal professionals, and court officials Physical Demands Ability to move/lift up to 25 pounds, prolonged sitting, some walking dependent on duties.
