Position Summary Under general supervision, the Civil Clerk performs a variety of clerical, data entry, and case management tasks within the County Clerk's Office.
This role requires a strong understanding of the judicial system and a high degree of professionalism when handling sensitive information.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of making sound decisions in accordance with departmental rules, regulations, and state statutes.
This position involves frequent interaction with the public, judges and their staff, legal professionals, and other government offices, requiring excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities * Manage civil litigation case files through the Efile System and internal Case Management System * Process various types of civil case documents in compliance with state laws and office procedures * Issue legal documents including citations, notices, and court-ordered paperwork * Calculate, collect, and track court fees and other financial transactions * Maintain current knowledge of relevant fee schedules, statutes, and courtroom procedures * Prepare and organize initial and supplemental filings in a timely and accurate manner * Research and interpret legal issues as needed Required Qualifications * High School diploma or GED equivalent * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe * Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute * Familiarity with standard office equipment (fax, copier, calculator, etc.) Preferred Qualifications * Prior experience in a legal or judicial environment * Working knowledge of civil court processes and case management systems Essential Skills * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Excellent organizational and time management abilities * Effective interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and problem-solving * Ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals including the public, judges, attorneys, and other government personnel Physical Requirements * Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds Application Process Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
