Description:
Basic Purpose and Function of the Project Coordinator:
Ensures assigned work is completed on time and within established budgets. Resolves all issues that arise, as well as working with the customer, subcontractors, and other departments to keep a minimum of interferences from impacting the progression of work. Ensures prime and subcontractors are aware of milestones, key events, and target dates for assigned work. Assess production progress and discuss production status with the Project Management Team; Works directly with shipyard departments including:
Quality Assurance and Testing, Environmental, and Production Support.
Works closely with the Project Managers to accurately and efficiently schedule and progress assigned jobs.
Full understanding of Marine Regulatory standards, including the NAVSEA Standards Items
Major Responsibility (Functions/Duties):
Adheres to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Supports the Project Managers in running client initiatives using project management best practices.
Works with the Project Manager(s) to provide summarized project status updates to executive team and extended implementation support
Monitors project workspaces to ensure that team is keeping all project artifacts up to date.
Ensures consistency and completion of project workspaces and keeps team accountable for
Comprehends all levels of duties and requirements of work being performed on a
Participates in daily meetings with the Customers and Production Leads.
Collaborates frequently and closely with the Project team to ensure portfolio activities and project tasks are executed on
Compiles consolidated lessons learned from project phases into Project Management Tool; Manages overall action plan for lessons learned follow up with key implementation
Contributes to the implementation of improvements in standard solutions and
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of business processes/standards/testing requirements through a variety of training methods, meetings, and

Education and Experience:
An Associate’s degree in any technical skill associated with ship repair, and four to six (4 to 6) years of progressively more complex work experience demonstrating the required ship repair and production management skills; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
