Job Description
Summary:
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of aircraft MRO experience and strong comprehension of engineering fundamentals and able to apply them to solve real-world problems. They are highly motivated, competitive, and comfortable working both independently and on a team. Engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills will be used to troubleshoot, design, analyze, and repair aircraft components, tooling, and test systems.
Duties:
Develop new repairs or industrialize existing CMM repairs.
Investigate assembly/production issues and produce practical viable solutions.
Produce 3D CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and repair/modification work instructions.
Perform stress analysis to ensure structural integrity of repaired components.
Write engineering reports to substantiate the design complies with applicable FAA regulations.
Assist in aircraft component failure investigations and warranty determinations.
Provide liaison technical support to other departments.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the aviation industry, preferably with LRU, APU or jet engine component repair or aircraft powerplant engineering.
Strong understanding of engineering mechanics (metallic material properties, free body diagrams, stress analysis methods, fluid flow, etc.)
Understanding and working knowledge of FAA requirements.
Thermal spray and electroplating work experience.
Understanding and direct experience with various types of LRU or jet engine component repair processes and requirements.
Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook proficiency
