PRIMARY PURPOSE: Senior Production Designer needed to support our VP and AVP of Creative in the execution of industry-leading Simon brand design. The ideal candidate is passionate about design precision, thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment, and has experience in translating creative concepts into high-quality, production-ready assets. You'll be responsible for ensuring that our designs are flawlessly executed across various channels, including web, social and marketing. This role often involves leading design teams, managing multiple projects, and collaborating with other departments.

This position requires a professional understanding and proficiency across all aspects of mechanical creation, printing and digital post operations. Meticulous attention to detail, production comprehension, great design aesthetic and sensibility are crucial traits of this role. Senior Production Designer must have a proactive approach; continuously seeking excellence in creative outputs and execution of tasks; and great communication skills.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Executes and produces engaging visual content on-brand graphics, videos, and multimedia assets for digital and print platforms, including the website, social media, email campaigns, and print marketing materials including print catalog.

Design brand-elevating creative that balances the needs of both art and commerce — driving both brand awareness and brand desire.

Bring creativity, attention to detail, and efficiency to projects under tight deadlines

Assist in creating and updating templates for efficiency and consistency

Stay current on design/fashion/editorial/retail/competitor trends.

Anticipate and resolve creative challenges by using appropriate resources and/or solutions.

Managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and ensuring efficient workflows.

Manage version control, file organization, and archiving of creative assets, including:

Manage and curate Digital Asset Management System (DAM) with precise metadata tagging for photos and videos

Oversees cataloging and implementation of creative sourced content from photo shoots, UGC, manufacturers, and creative agencies to file end-use content.

Overseeing the design process, from initial concepts to final production, ensuring consistency and quality.

Leading and mentoring junior production designers, providing guidance and support.

Collaborate closely with the Creative, Digital Marketing and Digital Product teams to create consistent brand materials across website content and marketing channels

Operate autonomously as a designer while being comfortable guiding cross-functional teams, freelancers, agencies, and production partners.

Optimizes visual content for various platforms adapting graphics for diverse formats, including web, mobile, social media, email, seasonal print catalog, and out-of-home mailers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 5+ years of art direction experience in a renowned and highly creative advertising, fashion or retail environment

Must be an exceptional creative thinker with a proven ability to deliver outstanding solutions

Must be highly motivated and independent with a proven ability to be an enthusiastic team player.

Foster engagement, accountability, and a stronger team culture.

Must have great communication skills and team leading traits.

Strong ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Exceptional typographic and graphic design skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Mastery of appropriate tools & technology: expert or advanced skills with Adobe Suite/standard industry software, including composing and manipulating images as needed to illustrate ideas.

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon various factors, including an individual’s skills, experience and qualifications and the geographic location of the job. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at the top end of the pay range.
