Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic and integral member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the comprehensive financial management and oversight of five 501(c)(3) nonprofit entities, including Catholic Charities, Seton Home, and St. PJ’s. The CFO ensures the integrity of financial operations, compliance with regulations, and alignment with the organizations’ missions and strategic objectives. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the CFO partners closely with senior leadership to include the CEO and the Board of Directors to develop and implement financial strategies across the organizations.
Position Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight and Management
*Lead and manage the financial and accounting operations of Catholic Charities, Seton Home, St. PJ’s, and related entities, including financial planning and forecasting, accounting, cash flow management, investments, and financial reporting.
*Supervise finance and accounting staff, providing leadership and development opportunities while maintaining a high standard of performance and integrity.
*Develop and maintain robust internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
*Oversee preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements, as well as reports required by federal and state funders, foundations, and the Board of Directors.
*Coordinate and ensure compliance with the accurate completion of Form 990 for all affiliated organizations, annual external audits, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Investment and Revenue Diversification Strategy
*Develop, recommend and execute strategies to maximize investment returns while maintaining balanced risk management, including overseeing the agency's endowment funds in accordance with the approved investment policy.
*Lead the diversification of revenue streams through innovative financial planning, strategic partnerships, and identifying new funding opportunities to ensure financial sustainability and growth.
*Manage and report on the agency’s investment portfolio, including analysis of financial markets and evaluation of alternative investment options.
*Collaborate with the executive team to align investment strategies with long-term organizational goals and sustainability.
Strategic Planning, Governance and Policy Development
*Collaborate with the Board of Directors and senior leadership to develop and implement long-term financial strategies, including business plans, forecasts, and policies.
*Serve as a key advisor on financial and business matters, actively participating in policy formulation and organization planning.
*Lead finance committee meetings, providing comprehensive financial updates and strategic insights, and present financial performance and key metrics at all Board of Directors (BOD) meetings.
*Engage with financial partners, including institutions, investors, auditors, and public officials, to enhance financial positioning and stakeholder confidence.
Stay current on best practices related to nonprofit financial management and compliance.
Contract and Compliance Management
*Oversee the management and administration of contracts, including vendor agreements, government contracts (e.g., TDFPS), and county collaborations.
*Ensure timely and accurate submission of contract deliverables, including bids and procurement processes in line with organizational policies.
*Identify and pursue new contract opportunities, aligning them with strategic goals.
*Maintain transparent communication with the CEO, CAO and relevant stakeholders regarding contract updates and changes.
Leadership and Staff Management
*Recruit, hire, and train finance staff, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven team environment.
*Provide mentorship and professional development, building a resilient and skilled financial team.
*Uphold a culture of accountability, transparency, and adherence to ethical standards and the organization’s core values.
Confidentiality and Compliance
*Safeguard the confidentiality of all sensitive information, including client data, financial records, donor contributions, and internal investigations.
Maintain strict adherence to the organization’s Code of Conduct and Faith and Moral guidelines.
Other Responsibilities
Participate in safety and risk management initiatives, ensuring the well-being of staff and clients.
Maintain sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of the service population.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred).
Experience:
Proven experience as a CFO or similar financial leadership role of at least five years, preferably in a nonprofit organization with a budget of at least $10 million.
License and Credentials
Reliable transportation
Valid driver license
Must have clean driving record
Minimum Knowledge:
Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
Strong knowledge of finance, investment management, and risk assessment
Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
Knowledge and understanding of the Office of Management and Budget Circular A133 audit.
Familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), and Federal Audit Requirements
Experience working with information technology to manage finance and accounting software packages.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license

Salary Description
$140,000-$160,000
