The Adaptive Communications and Sensing (AC&S) product line within the Command, Control, Communications and Computers Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems (C4ISRS) business area of BAE Systems Electronic Systems sector, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Cost Accountant to join our Finance team supporting our commercial product center based out of Dallas, TX. This role will be full-time remote, with periodic travel to Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for accounting for our commercial product center, accounting for internal investments, and providing sound business partnering to the product center leadership team.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

Ensuring on time and accurate financial reporting for commercial profit center

Financial Planning for Quarterly Forecast and Integrated Business Plan (IBP) updates

Support and review cost estimates for proposed efforts, ensuring that proposals are financially sound and risks are understood and margins are achievable

Assisting in validating cost and pricing data for commercial products

Monthly financial processing and reporting

Generate journal entries to support commercial accounts

Able to perform variance analysis for inventory and spending

Ad hoc support for special projects or activities, as needed.

Functional knowledge of general and cost accounting principles.

Functional knowledge of balance sheet and P&L reporting.

Ensure compliance with the Company internal and external financial procedures

Providing analytical data and recommendations for required improvement

Collaborating with Accounting, Pricing, Program Management, Government Compliance, and Financial Planning Teams

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline and 6 years work experience or Masters' Degree and equivalent experience.

Cost Accounting experience

Capable of efficient and relevant decision-making

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Effective communications skills

Ability to communicate and present financial data to various functions and varying levels of Management

Able to develop presentation material

Experience with Financial Planning and Forecasting

Well organized with an ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously

Knowledge of US GAAP

Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills required

Experienced in the use of ERP systems

Ability to work independently

Experience with a financial forecasting system, such as Hyperion.

Experience with a financial ERP system such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, or SAP

General Ledger Accounting experience

Skill in implementing effective processes and controls

Experience in the Defense industry
