Must possess Associates Degree, have 2 years of higher education (minimum) or have passed the WorkKeys Assessment Test or ETS Parapro Assessment Test (passing score of 460 is required)

Comfortable and confident with special needs students

Capable of one-on-one assignment with special needs student

Physical stamina to assist motor/physical/emotional needs of student, including toileting if necessary

Tolerance for difference in student's learning styles and rates

Model a respect for learning

Flexibility in work assignment(s)

Good oral and written language skills

Demonstrated ability in interpersonal skills

Innate sense and acceptance of student needs and individualities

Ability to accept direction from certified staff and administration

Respectful and compliant with confidentiality

Prefer additional training or work experience
