Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to lead the modernization of software solutions by transitioning legacy applications from monolithic architectures to secure, containerized microservices. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in DevSecOps practices, particularly within AWS cloud environments, and will guide development teams in leveraging CI/CD pipelines, open-source tools, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions. This role plays a critical part in building and sustaining a secure microservices factory to support agile software delivery in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the transformation of legacy applications to a microservices architecture within hardened containers.

Guide and support application development teams in refactoring or developing cloud-native solutions using DevSecOps methodologies.

Design, deploy, and sustain a microservices factory environment leveraging COTS and open-source solutions.

Facilitate the integration of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools into development workflows.

Instruct development teams on best practices for secure software development within a DevSecOps framework.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet both technical and security compliance standards.

Operate within and support an AWS cloud environment with a strong emphasis on automation, scalability, and security.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in software development, DevSecOps, or related fields.

At least 3 years of hands-on experience implementing DevSecOps practices in AWS cloud environments.

AWS Associate certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate).

DoD 8570 IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, or equivalent).

Active IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at the time of proposal submission.

Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and security automation.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and mentor development teams.
